Endowus Satellite Portfolios 2026: Real Assets, Technology, China Equities & Megatrends Compared

Endowus Satellite Portfolios are four cash-only, thematic add-ons — Real Assets, Technology, China Equities and Megatrends — charged on the same 0.60%-0.25% tiered fee as Flagship, with a S$1,000 minimum and no CPF or SRS access. Technology has delivered the strongest 10-year annualised return at 16.0%, but also the highest volatility, and Endowus itself positions all four as a supplement to your Flagship or ESG Core, not a replacement for it.

Not financial advice. All figures are for educational reference only. Data as at October 2026 unless noted.

What are Endowus Satellite Portfolios?

Most coverage of Endowus on Singapore finance sites stops at Flagship, Income and Cash Smart — the three products new sign-ups see first. Fewer investors know that Endowus also runs a fourth, narrower product line called Satellite Portfolios: four pre-built, thematic model portfolios that let you add a focused tilt on top of your main holdings without hand-picking individual unit trusts yourself.

The four Satellite Portfolios, as listed on Endowus’s own Satellite product page, are Real Assets (global real estate, infrastructure and commodities), Technology (global tech-focused equity funds), China Equities (onshore A-shares plus offshore-listed China names) and Megatrends (healthcare, AI, robotics and other secular themes). Each one is a multi-manager blend of three to five specialist unit trusts, assembled and rebalanced by Endowus rather than something you build fund-by-fund yourself.

The Core-Satellite strategy behind them

Endowus frames Satellite Portfolios through what it calls a Core-Satellite investment strategy, explained in its own Core-Satellite strategy article: the Core allocation — typically Flagship or the ESG portfolio — is the globally diversified backbone built to give the highest probability of long-term success, while a Satellite is a smaller, more concentrated allocation layered on top to express a specific view on a region, sector or theme. Endowus is explicit that a Satellite “could potentially be riskier” held on its own because it is less diversified, and is designed to be used alongside a Core holding, not instead of one.

This is a genuinely different concept from the generic core-satellite investing framework most Singapore finance content covers (pairing a broad-market ETF like VWRA with individual S-REITs or SGX stocks) — our own Core-Satellite Investing Singapore guide walks through that DIY version. Endowus’s Satellite Portfolios are a packaged, single-platform version of the same idea, built from unit trusts rather than ETFs or single stocks, and only available to existing Endowus Core or standalone Satellite investors.

The four Satellite Portfolios compared

Each Satellite Portfolio carries very different risk and return characteristics, despite sharing the same “Very Aggressive” risk tolerance label and the same fee schedule. Based on Endowus’s representative 10-year performance data (October 2016 to September 2026):

Technology has the highest headline return of the four — 16.00% annualised over 10 years, with 20.31% annualised volatility — built from a blend including Fidelity Global Technology Fund (30%), Franklin Technology Fund (25%), Janus Henderson Horizon Global Tech Leaders Fund (15%), JPMorgan Funds US Technology Fund (15%) and BlackRock BGF World Technology Fund (10%).

Megatrends returned 8.26% annualised with lower 13.36% volatility, spreading across AB Sustainable Global Thematic Portfolio Fund and Allianz Thematica Fund (22.5% each), Janus Henderson Horizon Biotechnology Fund and Thematics AI and Robotics Fund (15% each), and Neuberger Berman Global Equity Megatrends Fund (10%).

China Equities returned 6.24% annualised with 18.45% volatility — the second-highest volatility of the four despite a middling return — reflecting China’s structurally higher equity risk premium over the past decade. Its blend leans on BGF Systematic China A-Share Opportunities Fund (30%), JPM China A-Share Opportunities Fund (20%), T. Rowe Price China Evolution Equity Fund (20%), UBS China A Opportunity Fund (20%) and Fidelity China Focus Fund (10%).

Real Assets returned 6.15% annualised with the lowest volatility of the set at 13.73%, built from Janus Henderson Horizon Global Property Equities Fund and M&G Global Listed Infrastructure Fund (25% each), Nordea Global Real Estate Fund (20%) and KBI Global Sustainable Infrastructure Fund (10%). Endowus positions this one specifically as an inflation hedge with lower correlation to equities and bonds, rather than a pure growth play.

Fees and minimum investment

Every Satellite Portfolio sits on the same tiered Endowus Fee schedule as Flagship and the other cash-funded Core portfolios: 0.60% per annum on the first S$200,000, 0.50% from S$200,001 to S$1,000,000, 0.35% from S$1,000,001 to S$5,000,000, and 0.25% above S$5,000,001, charged quarterly on your average daily assets under advice. There is no separate sales charge and Endowus rebates 100% of any trailer fee back to the client, per its own pricing page. On top of the Endowus Fee, each underlying unit trust also carries its own fund-level Total Expense Ratio (TER), deducted from the fund’s net asset value before Endowus’s fee is even applied — the same layering that applies to Flagship.

Endowus access fee tiers by portfolio size for Satellite and Core cash accounts

The minimum initial investment across all four Satellite Portfolios is S$1,000, same as Endowus’s general platform minimum, with no separate top-up minimum stated on the product pages. New sign-ups can use the Endowus referral code for the current welcome offer when opening an account to access Satellites for the first time, and our broader Endowus vs DBS digiPortfolio 2026 comparison covers how the Core fee schedule stacks up against a bank-bundled alternative.

Can you use CPF or SRS?

No. Every Satellite Portfolio page explicitly lists “Invest with Cash” as the only funding source — there is no CPF Ordinary Account or SRS option for Real Assets, Technology, China Equities or Megatrends, unlike Flagship and the Income portfolios, which both accept CPF OA and SRS funds. This is a meaningful constraint for investors who were planning to route CPF or SRS savings into a thematic tilt: that money has to stay in Flagship, ESG or Income, and only cash savings can go into a Satellite. If your SRS strategy depends on a themed allocation, our Endowus Income Portfolio 2026 breakdown covers the closest CPF/SRS-eligible alternative that still targets a specific payout profile.

Who should (and shouldn’t) add a Satellite

Endowus’s own guidance, repeated across every Satellite product page, is that these are a complement to a Core holding, not a replacement. A Singapore investor who has already built a Flagship or ESG position as their main long-term holding, and has spare cash savings beyond their emergency fund, is the clearest fit for layering in a Satellite tilt — typically sized as a minority slice (Endowus’s own marketing examples and most robo-advisor guidance suggest keeping thematic satellites to a modest percentage of total invested assets, though Endowus does not publish a house recommended split).

An investor with only CPF or SRS savings to invest, or no existing Core position at all, is a weaker fit: CPF/SRS money simply cannot reach Satellite, and putting 100% of cash savings into a single theme — especially Technology or China Equities, the two most volatile of the four — concentrates risk in exactly the way Endowus itself warns against when a Satellite is held “on its own.” A cost-sensitive investor already paying the 0.60% cash tier on a large Flagship balance should also note that adding a Satellite does not reduce or combine fee tiers across pools — each pool (Flagship cash, Satellite cash, CPF, SRS) is assessed against the tier schedule independently based on what’s held in that pool.

FAQ

What are Endowus Satellite Portfolios?
They are four pre-built, thematic model portfolios from Endowus — Real Assets, Technology, China Equities and Megatrends — designed to be added on top of a Core holding like Flagship or ESG to express a focused view on a region, sector or theme, rather than used as your only investment.
How much do Endowus Satellite Portfolios cost?
The same tiered Endowus Fee as Flagship: 0.60% per annum up to S$200,000 in cash assets under advice, 0.50% from S$200,001 to S$1,000,000, 0.35% from S$1,000,001 to S$5,000,000, and 0.25% above that, charged quarterly. Each underlying fund also carries its own Total Expense Ratio on top of this fee.
Can I invest in Satellite Portfolios with CPF or SRS?
No. All four Satellite Portfolios are cash-only — Endowus’s own product pages list “Invest with Cash” as the sole funding source, unlike Flagship, ESG and Income, which all accept CPF Ordinary Account and SRS funds.
What is the minimum investment for a Satellite Portfolio?
S$1,000, the same as Endowus’s general platform minimum for Singapore-based individual investors. Joint, corporate, institutional, trust and multi-currency accounts have separate arrangements handled directly by Endowus.
Should I use a Satellite Portfolio instead of my Flagship Core?
Endowus explicitly does not recommend this. Its own guidance describes Satellite Portfolios as potentially riskier when held alone because they are less diversified than Flagship or ESG, and positions them as a smaller, supplementary allocation layered on top of a Core holding rather than a replacement for one.
Which Endowus Satellite Portfolio has performed best?
Technology has the highest 10-year annualised return at 16.00% (Oct 2016-Sep 2026) but also the highest volatility at 20.31%. Megatrends and Real Assets have delivered steadier, lower-volatility returns of 8.26% and 6.15% respectively, while China Equities returned 6.24% with the second-highest volatility of the four. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
