Trust Link Credit Card Review 2026: How the Up-to-21% FairPrice Savings Really Work

The NTUC Link card from Trust Bank, explained tier by tier: what you actually earn at FairPrice, where the caps bite, and who should pair it with the Freedom card.

The Trust Link credit card (also called the NTUC Link credit card) is Trust Bank’s FairPrice card. It has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee, and pays its rewards as Linkpoints worth S$0.01 each. NTUC union members can earn up to 21% at FairPrice Group, but the bonus tiers are capped, so families spending more than about S$250 a month at FairPrice will see closer to 10% to 15%.

What is the Trust Link credit card?

Trust Bank is the digital bank set up by Standard Chartered and NTUC Enterprise, which owns FairPrice. It offers two credit cards: the Trust Freedom card and the Trust Link card.

The Link card (sold as the NTUC Link credit card) is the one built for FairPrice shoppers. It earns Linkpoints, the same points you collect with your Link membership. You can use them to offset your bill at FairPrice, with 100 Linkpoints worth S$1.

Because it is a Trust card, it also carries the bank’s no-fee basics. There is no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee, and you apply and manage everything in the Trust app.

One detail matters more than the rest. The 21% headline is only for NTUC union members. Non-members can earn up to 15% at FairPrice Group, according to Trust’s Linkpoints page.

How the up-to-21% FairPrice savings work

The 21% is not a flat rate. It is built from several Linkpoint tiers stacked on top of each other, and each tier has its own condition and cap.

The key condition is spending outside FairPrice Group. Trust counts Visa transactions on your card that are not at FairPrice Group stores. You need S$350 a month for the first bonus tiers and S$700 a month for the top one.

Tier (NTUC union member) Extra Linkpoints on FairPrice spend Condition Reported cap
Base 0.5% None None stated
Bonus 2% None 12,000 Linkpoints (S$120)
Monthly bonus 4% Spend S$350 a month outside FairPrice Group 5,500 Linkpoints a month (S$55)
Quarterly bonus 1 6.5% Hit S$350 a month for 3 months in a row 5,000 Linkpoints a quarter (S$50)
Quarterly bonus 2 6% Hit S$700 a month for 3 months in a row 5,000 Linkpoints a quarter (S$50)
FairPrice annual member bonus 2% Once a year, for FairPrice members 12,000 Linkpoints (S$120)
Maximum 21%

Add the tiers up and a union member who hits S$700 a month outside FairPrice for three months in a row earns 19% on FairPrice spend. The once-a-year FairPrice member bonus takes it to 21%.

The caps are where it gets tricky. The two quarterly bonuses are worth 12.5% between them, but they stop at 5,000 Linkpoints each, or S$100 a quarter in total. You hit both caps once you spend about S$770 a quarter at FairPrice, or roughly S$256 a month.

What you really earn: worked examples

Here is what an NTUC union member earns at different FairPrice spending levels. It assumes S$700 a month of other spending goes on the card, so every tier is unlocked.

FairPrice spend a month Linkpoints a quarter Value a quarter Effective rate Value a year
S$150 8,550 S$85.50 19.0% S$342
S$250 14,250 S$142.50 19.0% S$570
S$400 17,800 S$178.00 14.8% S$712
S$600 21,700 S$217.00 12.1% S$868
S$1,000 29,500 S$295.00 9.8% S$1,180

Source: TKN calculation for an NTUC union member who spends S$700 a month outside FairPrice Group on the card. Uses the reported tiers and caps; excludes the once-a-year 2% member bonus and the 0.22% on other spending. October 2026

Up to about S$250 a month at FairPrice, you really do earn around 19%. That is excellent for a no-fee card.

Above that, the quarterly caps kick in and the effective rate falls. A family spending S$600 a month at FairPrice earns about 12%, or S$868 a year in Linkpoints. That is still strong, but well short of the 21% on the poster.

There is a second catch. The S$700 a month you spend elsewhere earns only about 0.22%, around S$18 a year. If that spending went on a 1.5% cashback card instead, you would earn about S$126 a year. So the true gain from the Link card is the FairPrice rewards minus what you give up on your other spending.

For our S$600-a-month family, that is roughly S$868 minus S$108, or about S$760 a year better off. It still comes out well ahead, provided the S$700 is spending you would make anyway.

Caltex, overseas spending and other perks

Caltex fuel. Trust advertises up to 20% savings on fuel at Caltex with the card. If you drive, this can add up, but check the current Caltex terms in the app as they are separate from the FairPrice tiers.

Overseas spending. There is no foreign transaction fee and no exchange rate markup. That beats most bank cards, which charge around 3.25% on foreign currency spend. The catch is that overseas spending only earns about 0.22% in Linkpoints, so the Freedom card is usually the better card to take abroad. We compare Trust with YouTrip in our Trust vs YouTrip travel card comparison.

Instalments. Purchases of S$50 or more can be split into interest-free payments in the app.

Two cards, one bill. If you hold both Trust cards, one payment clears the balance on both.

Most people do not have to choose. Both cards are free, so many Trust customers hold both and use each where it is strongest.

There is one trade-off to check. The Link card’s bonus tiers depend on spending S$350 or S$700 a month outside FairPrice. If that spending goes on the Freedom card instead, it may not count, and you could lose most of the Link bonus.

Trust’s page says the minimum spend counts Visa transactions on your credit or debit card outside FairPrice Group. Check in the app which of your Trust cards count before you split your spending. Our full Trust Freedom credit card review covers the stockback, miles and cashback modes in detail.

Who the Trust Link card suits (and who it does not)

Good fit:

  • NTUC union members who shop at FairPrice, Unity or Kopitiam every week.
  • Households spending S$150 to S$400 a month at FairPrice, where the effective rate stays high.
  • People who can put S$700 a month of normal spending on the card without stretching.
  • Drivers who fill up at Caltex.

Not a good fit:

  • Non-union members who mostly shop at Sheng Siong, Cold Storage or online grocers.
  • People who would have to spend more just to hit S$700 a month. The extra spending costs more than the bonus is worth.
  • Anyone who carries a balance. At 18.9% a year or more, interest wipes out any rewards.

You unlock them by spending S$350 and S$700 a month outside FairPrice Group on the card, and the full 21% includes a once-a-year FairPrice member bonus. Each tier is capped, so the effective rate falls once you spend more than about S$250 a month at FairPrice.
